To prepare and assemble suitable teaching materials and learning resources for the delivery of all courses/classes allocated.
To use and evaluate teaching techniques/methods appropriate to learner groups.
To maximise learner success, achievement and retention.
To identify and respond to students’ needs and welfare with counselling, guidance, support to own competence and, where necessary, refer to appropriate alternative authority.
To carry out assessments of learning consistent with Ripe Learning processes and the requirements of relevant awarding bodies.
To maintain up-to-date records, reports, profiles, learner files etc.
Experience
Recent experience of teaching Entry Level to Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics in an FE or adult learning environment.
Understanding/experience of Functional Skills Maths.
Experience of curriculum planning.
Ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
Education/Training/Qualifications:
Possession of/willingness to work towards Level 5 Numeracy Specialist qualification.
Degree or equivalent professional/vocational qualification.
Hold or be willing to gain a teaching Qualification – Cert Ed/PGCE.
Volunteering
Ripe Learning has a range of roles for volunteers across the organisation.
- English Language Tutors support people with little or no basic language gain the necessary skills and confidence to use English in their everyday lives
- Learning Support Assistants help people achieve their learning goals in classes. They help support individual learners in their English, Maths and Digital Skills.
- We also have volunteer opportunities to work with our Administration and Funding & New Business work.
We are interested in hearing from people who can offer their time, skills and knowledge.
